Ms. Mossleigh was rescued when a kind lady heard meows from the landfill site where she worked. There had been weeks of -30 Celsius Canadian winter and Mossleigh was starved, dehydrated and frost-bitten badly. She was taken to the angels at Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue who nursed Mossleigh back to health. Unfortunately, she lost part of her tail and her ears to frostbite but the vet did a great job stitching her little "ears" so they are even and pretty (her hearing was undamaged). Mossleigh was adopted and now has the life of luxury she deserves in Calgary, Canada. She is a sweet, social girl who follows her Mom and Dad everywhere. Mossleigh is even making friends with Molly the Corgi who sometimes visits her apartment. "Moss the Boss" will be pampered and cherished forever more and is enjoying the posh life with the help of her Cheshire & Wain x Choupette’s Diary Collar and Gem Charm .
Rafi was born on September 9th of 2015, and came to live with mom, dad, and her kitty sister Lenny after spending about the first 12 weeks of her life with her big lynx family: Rafi's parents are an arctic lynx and and a highland lynx. Rafi is a polydactyl highland lynx with curled ears and a concentric circle pattern on her belly.
She is an outgoing and outspoken little kit! She loves strangers and acquainting herself with their smells and their belongings, and will often try to help them with whatever they're up to: She likes to play fetch, assist handymen in fixing things, squirrel-watch, help new visitors learn how to share their things with her, and she enjoys bringing to everyone's attention that they would really like to feed her. She is good with time management, and will take any opportunity to flop over for a good belly rub. Rafi also loves to burrow under the covers with mom in the morning to be the little spoon. Her dislikes are few: She hates to be left out, and will cry when separated from others. When no one is in bed she will cuddle with her big sister Lenny, who she also runs to on the rare occasion that something frightens her. She is good-natured, empathetic, sweet and truly lovable, except when she is trying to make off with a piece of your dinner.
I first saw Violett when she was only 4 weeks old and a tiny kitten of grey striped fluff. I knew she was the kitten I was going to be taking Home. It was only when Violett was around 5 months old we discovered she is in fact a gorgeous Russian blue! Violett was born on the 5th January 2017, she has been in her forever home with her mummy since 4th March 2017. Both occasions celebrated with a new Cheshire & Wain collar. Violett grew up with our older cat, but is now an only child and absolutely loves the attention that comes with it. She can be shy with strangers, but once she gets to know them she can’t get enough of the attention and makes sure to command it! Generally, Violett is a quiet cat, only meowing when she wants us to get up in the morning, or to let us know it’s bed time, and of course when she wants to be let into the garden. She grew up being walked on a cat safe harness and lead until she was big enough to be let out on her own- although occasionally she still asks to be walked around the block on her harness! She absolutely loves to sit in a window and watch the world go by, but equally, go out and chase the birds in the garden and have her ‘mad 5 minutes’. A little over one now, she is still the size of about a 6 month old kitten, none the less, she loves to play with toys and come for a cuddle. She even still lets me tuck her in with a blanket and still likes to be rocked when she is scared or feeling under the weather.
Little known fact: her full name is actually Parma-Violett, but only ever gets called that at the vets or when she is being naughty! (She likes to play with peoples feet!). Another little known fact is that she knows some tricks! She taps your leg to ask to be picked up, and she knows the command ‘sit’ for treats! She is the most gorgeous girl with the temperament to match. She is so sweet and loving, but currently going through that teenager phase! All in all, everyone who has met her has fallen in love, and say she is a spoilt princess of a cat. And I wouldn’t have her any other way.
"Winter is my son's cat - he called him Winter because of his lovely ice blue eyes & also being a Game of Thrones fan so he can say 'Winter is Coming' !!! Winter lives with his two older brothers Tumble & Tribble collectively they are known as 'The Trumbles'. Winter is only 20 weeks old & growing really fast he eats loads, often helping himself to his big brothers' food when he feels a little peckish. I also think he has 'obsessive cat disorder' he sorts out all the balls from his toys (the balls being his favourite) & when he's finished playing with them he puts them all back in his secret ball stash in the corner of the room. He is an adorable little kitten, he gets on well with his big brothers ambushing them at every opportunity, he's also very affectionate."
"Princess Georgina, commonly known as Georgie or just George to her pals, is a British Shorthair Blue. She turns two this month. A tenacious hunter, lil Georgie girl has just completed her second successful summer of indoor nocturnal moth hunting.
Whenever we put gorgeous George’s Cheshire & Wain orange leather collar on her, she instantly knows it is time for another garden adventure. Between bursts of running around and jumping as high as her sturdy little legs can propel her, this laid-back scamp likes nothing more than lying flat on her back on a rug, front paws tucked under her chin, staring upward, perhaps marvelling at how very different the ceiling is to the sky.
Her main life goal is to stay in bed as much as possible with her female human, and to make sure she has a paw on her arm or leg whenever she does so. She spends every weekend making sure she achieves this aim."
"Lady" Annabelle from Liverpool, is a Lilac British Shorthair with a cuddly, loving and affectionate nature.
Annabelle's favourite toys are cocktail straws (the more the better), an owl hand puppet and her Cheshire & Wain's collar pouch! She is very talkative, she knows what she wants and is happily presenting her requirements to her humans 24/7.
She is also incredibly smart, having learnt to sit, give paw, sit up, give high-five, roll over and even give a kiss on command for a treat!"
"Cassius is a British Blue Tabby and 2.5 years old. His favourite dish is freshly cooked chicken and on special occasions, a tiny piece of cheddar cheese. He won't touch fish in any form! Or cream. He loves being brushed. Hates squirrels and magpies. And the doorbell. He prefers a plastic bag to cashmere for napping. He's not a lap cat but comes for a cuddle at precisely 5am which is heaven. Even if I'm too hot and tired I endure it for the pure pleasure of his attention"
"Nyota is a 3 year old caramel tabby point Siamese lady, with quite the vocal repertoire. She is commander in chief of the household, and has us all pandering to her every need, although her sister, Padmé tries a coup every once in a while... Neenee (her nickname) is also a very loving wee soul and loves her cuddles with both her human slaves and her wee sister. She recently moved from a big city to the Kingdom of Fife, where she is becoming a very confident outdoor explorer... although no trophies yet!"
Phoebe and Keenan are Scottish Folds. Scottish Folds have some corky traits. Phoebe and Keenan are no exception. Curiosity compels them to mimic the "Meerkat" by standing on two legs! Very funny to see! You will likely witness Phoebe and Keenan lounging about like humans. On their backs with their legs and arms stretched out before them! Hilarious to observe! As brother and sister they play, groom, and get into many kitty shenanigans together! Opening cabinets drawers and doors.
"Lyra is 1 years old and she is affectionately known as chub chub. Her most favourite things are eating and playing with anything plastic including carrier bags which she likes to try and keep a hold off. She has an uncanny knack of finding plastic wherever it may be hiding! She is such a cuddly happy girl who loves to command a belly rub and we are so glad she owns us!" - Julie
Lyra models Purple ‘Cheshire Cat’ collar from the Wonderland collection paired with Chrome Disc ID tag.
"Rescued from a shelter when she was a sick and timid kitten, today Nora is happy and healthy in her loving forever home. She enjoys napping on her favourite velvet blanket, looking down on her humans (both literally and figuratively), and of course, eating. Being a canned food connoisseur and a master manipulator, Nora comes meowing every time she hears the refrigerator door open!"
"This is our beautiful 7 month old Jasper. Jasper's day will normally begin with cuddles in the morning before breakfast then resuming normal routine of stealing as many hair bands and cotton earbuds as possible and storing them in a safe place (we are yet to find this safe place!). He is a very energetic kitty and likes to run up and down the stairs making as much noise as possible, preying on any wriggly toes that dare to pass. He very much enjoys company, every room you enter you can be sure to here the little ring-a-ling of his gorgeous new collar coming in behind you. His favourite place to sit is the bathroom windowsill watching the birds play."
This little tiger-to-be enjoys hours of attacking a sponge and leaving fluffy sponge snow all over the house, playing fetch (yes, she plays fetch!) with anything mildly crunchy, protecting her owners by chasing mosquitos, posing like a lion in her new collar for the camera, (in her mind she is the queen of the jungle and its her crown) and hiding Starwars Lego in her newly adopted shoe-box lair
CAT OF THE MONTH: AUGUST 2016
"Ruby is quite a serious cat for one so small and pretty. She lost her collar a couple of weeks ago and I only noticed that her behaviour had changed when I replaced it. When she had no collar she stayed in the kitchen and terrace and had little to do with us but when I put her new collar on she was suddenly "back". I think in her tiny sub conscious she felt that no collar meant she wasn't part of the family any more. When she got a new one it was like me saying 'we love you'"
Dorian is 3 years old and full of energy, which keeps his owners on their toes. He is very curious but also very clumsy, so there is never a dull moment with him around. He likes to talk and is very good at articulating what he wants (and doesn't want!) He loves clean sheets, belly rubs, tuna dinners, sunbathing and finding new impossible hiding spots. He is afraid of the wind and rushes into the house even at a slight breeze.
Dorian plays with catnip toy prawn and roast chicken

As you can imagine the results of this are hilarious! He loves to be tickled under his chin, and likes to sing and sit in the shower, but has very recently taken to sitting on his Cheshire and Wain roast chicken catnip toy like a mother hen and her egg. His favourite foods are chicken and mango and he loves licking ice cream off the spoon when his owners aren't looking!

Kip & Haddie
During a trip to New York I had the pleasure of meeting Tamar - founder of fabulous cat blog "I HAVE CAT". Sadly I didn't get to meet her felines in person (Kip, Haddie & Petie) but she sent us some pictures of Kip (left) and Haddie (right) kicking back with some catnip. Read what they thought of Cheshire & Wain's handmade prawn toy here
Kip is Tamar's “first born” : adopted while she was dating a man long-distance with two cats of his own. Kip is a curious, social and nurturing kitty, always ready to bathe the fosters upon moments of arrival.
Haddie (aka little girl) is Tamar's failed foster. Kip mothers her and she is always trying to play with Petie to no avail. Sweet Haddie!
A little about Pan from his owner - Cassy
"Even at five years Pan still insists on playing fetch: he drops objects by our feet and taps our shins until we throw the item across the room for him. This can continue ad nauseum. He is essentially a housecat but enjoys walks in the garden in his walking jacket and lead. Again, he makes it clear when he requires an outing and gets into position to have his ‘jacket’ velcroed into place. He lives with four other rescue cats but remains attached to me, so much so he is referred to as my shadow. However he is happy to play with the cats and curl up with them when I am not available for him.
This special blue-eyed boy is easy to spoil so now sports the C&W Earthen Blush collar with bat skull pendant. The bird skull will be added to this soon – ‘trophies’ for a cat that has never killed anything!
*Named after Kosa Pan a Siamese ambassador to 17th century French court, also the classical Greek reference which is in line with Pan’s predecessor Hector.

Mango from Massachusetts is a member of the Cheshire & Wain Cat Collective. His name is short for Maine Gold (he thinks he's part Maine Coon since he came from out of the woods in the middle of that great state and landed in a shelter sporting a lovely marmalade coat and golden eyes). If he were a character in the Game of Thrones, he'd by Tyrion Lannister in cat form. He's a bit vain, but very sweet.
