Choosing a collar for your cat can feel daunting at first. With so many options and designs to choose from - online as well as in pet stores and boutiques, how can you be sure you select a collar that's safe and suitable for your beloved kitty?
At Cheshire & Wain, safe cat collars are our speciality. We have been handcrafting luxury collars since 2012 and are proud to supply cats with top-quality collars and accessories in over 50 countries. All our collar designs incorporate a discreet breakaway safety catch, designed to break open under pressure. If the collar gets caught on something during one of your cat's adventures (indoors or outside), this means they are not in danger of getting hurt.

In recent years, luxury fashion houses such as Gucci, Prada, and Tiffany have launched pet accessories. While beautifully designed, most do not feature the essential breakaway mechanism that cat collars require in order to be safe. They are stylish, of course, but unlike Cheshire & Wain collars, they don't always have the safety catch that makes our collars a trusted option for your beloved kitty.

Where can I find a high quality reflective cat collar?
Cheshire & Wain designed a collection of high-visibility cat collars that set a new standard in feline safety. Designed for adventurous kitties, our innovative retro-reflective fabric ensures that your cat will stand out wherever they’re going, whatever the hour.
Why reflective?
Cats are crepuscular creatures, which means they are most active at twilight. Low light levels make them harder to spot when they're out on the prowl. If your cat is crossing a road at night, they could be risking one of their precious nine lives. The reflective fabric acts as a warning to other road users that there is a hazard ahead and a reason to slow down and be more vigilant.
At Cheshire & Wain, we carefully develop our designs with your kitty’s safety in mind which is why we offer a range of reflective cat collars that make sure your pet is as visible as possible. These collars can also be paired with a matching AirTag case so you can track your cat in urban and semi-rural locations using your phone and the wider Apple network.

What about my cat's collar size? Is that important when it comes to collar safety?
It's essential that you choose the correct size collar for your feline friend. Breakaway collars need to be a snug fit to limit the chances of the collar getting snagged on something. A well fitting collar will also be more comfortable for your cat. At Cheshire & Wain, we offer three sizes (petite, standard and large). For advice on collar sizing and fit, please refer to our fitting guide or contact us for assistance.
Does my cat need an ID tag?
Fitting your cat's collar with an engraved ID is certainly advised so your emergency contact details are quick and easy to find if your cat is lost or gets injured on one of their adventures.
